1740-1748 - War of Austrian Succession; Maria Theresa (Austria) allies with Britain during the war
The War of Austrian Succession allowed Britain to ally with a strong country, which in the long run, allowed Britain to gain prominence among the other countries.
1763 - Great Britain becomes the world's largest colonial power
Britain was reaching a time period of prosperity and was rising above other nations to become the best at the time.
Low Points:
1714-1727 - George I relied in Robert Walpole, no familiarity with British system
1721-1742 - Walpole serve as prime minster, pushed for peaceful foreign policy to avoid land taxes
1775 - George III vetoes Olive Branch Petition, causing further discontentment among the American colonists
7/4/1776 - Declaration of Independence finished- America and Britain are officially in war against each other; America fights for independance and freedom from Britain
1778 - battle of Yorktown, surrender by British
1780 - House of Commons thinks that the monarchy has grown too strong and needs to be stopped
1781-British are finally defeated in America.
1784 - France gains it's first concession in Vietnam
1793 - The pro-revolution Duke of Orleans is executed for helping the Bourbons in their escape from France.
